Jenn and I were both watching the forecast on Saturday morning June 8 trying to decide just how much rain we might be working around during the day of she and Mike’s wedding. (I like to monitor Doppler radar on my smart phone whenever there is uncertainty.) When I arrived at Jenn’s suite at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel in Portsmouth, NH, we were both gleefully delighted at the brightening skies and sunlight pouring in through her top floor window overlooking Portsmouth harbor; a sign of things to come!

Throughout the day, we were treated to warm, late-spring weather and bright skies as we made our way to the Immaculate Conception Church in Portsmouth, NH for the ceremony and then on to the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club on the harbor edge of Rye, NH for the reception.

I was glad to be joined once again by Jaime Connolly as my second shooter who started photographing Mike and the groomsmen at a friend’s house in Hampton, NH.

The rest of the guys were working to put themselves together too 🙂 The classic tux formal wear added a snazzy touch.

Meanwhile, I made my way up the special elevator to the bridal suite where I found Jenn and her bridesmaids with the makeup artist and stylist.

Jenn gave each bridesmaid a custom etsy hanger for their dresses.

The two-story lofted suite gave me several great perspectives to shoot from.

Jenn’s mother, Diane, joins us as Jenn fit into her dress.

Friend and Maid of Honor, Katie (aka Dela) shares a moment of excitement with Jenn as we get ready to make our way to the ceremony at Immaculate Conception.

Jenn LOVES peonies. They are her favorite flower. When she and Mike bought their first house this past year, they delighted to discover their yard had a beautiful peony bush that was in full bloom at the time of their wedding.

Mike sends Jenn a special card before the wedding telling her how excited he is to marry her.

Mike awaits her arrival at the church as we made our way through the traffic of Market Day in Portsmouth.

Jenn’s uncle, Brian, escorts the bride into the church to walk her down the aisle.

The bridal party catches a ride on a trolly for a quick stop at Great Island Common in New Castle, NH, just around the corner from the Wentworth by the Sea.

We all arrive back at the Wentworth where we are greeted by the elegant tent setup and thoughtful details.

With the place cards, Jenn gave each guest a cheese knife favor that matched the ocean-side theme.

Mike is joined by his mother, Maria, his father, Joe, and his siblings. Jenn loves the harbor backdrop: the sky, the water and the sailboats.

The beauty of the seaside-scape at the Wentworth does not disappoint.

Under the tent at the country club, the festivities are underway. Jenn and Mike share their first dance as husband and wife.

It is no surprise to see peonies accenting the reception setting.

Maid of honor, Dela, warms the audience with her words to Mike and Jenn.

To the delight of the audience, Mike’s Best Man, Andy, takes his turn at the mic.

Jenn and Mike hired Night Rhythm. Might I suggest that you do the same. Wow. They raised the tent roof as the evening starts to heat up.

Jenn and her new father-in-law, Joe, take to the dance floor.

Lead singer, Brian, draws a crowd.

This little guy was ready to call it a night 🙂

As evening sets on the coast, Jenn and Mike steal away for a moment outside.

A sparkler finale closes the night.

Jenn and Mike: I had such a incredible time spending the day with you at your wedding.  Thank you for letting me tell your story. There is so much more to come!
