When you travel to Waterville Valley NH, the Rt 49 passage into the heart of the White Mountains bestows a feeling of being set apart and off the hurried path. Considering that my home studio is in the Queen City, the relaxed pace in the town strikes me every time I realize you almost don’t have to look before crossing the street. It is so quiet you can hear cars coming from a good distance away. The wind and birds are the only background noise.

I met Meaghan and John for their engagement photo session in Nashua NH at Mine Falls Park earlier this year. Part of the reason I love these sessions is the chance to get to know the couple and have them feel comfortable being themselves in front of the camera.

I had the pleasure once again to work with my friend and most excellent WV wedding coordinator, Whitney Meister, who’s experience and talent for hospitality helped orchestrate the entire wedding day with a professional style and perfect tempo.

I was also joined by colleague Mandy Perkins who’s eye and talent is woven through the imagery you will see below. I really could not have assembled this story without her.

The wedding itinerary for the day took us through several of the town’s most popular focal points and finished at the grand Garden Tent at Waterville Valley Conference Center.

WV is so enjoyably walkable. I usually just park my car and walk the entire day. I headed over to the Golden Eagle Lodge, a grand resort hotel in the center of town. Under a deep blue sky, I headed up to the forth floor corner suite to meet up with Meaghan.

Bright and summery florals were delivered to the bridal suite shortly after I arrived.

Meaghan had not seen her bouquets yet so I brought her them to look at while she was getting her hair styled.

The Golden Eagle offers a cozy setting and striking architecture.

Meaghan’s father, Timothy, visited the bridal suite and savored a moment to see his daughter for the first time before the ceremony.

Meaghan’s mother, Anne Marie, pauses for a photo with her daughter.

Meanwhile, Mandy made her way over to the Black Bear Lodge nearby to connect with John and the guys.

This shot is very “lodgey”, I like it 🙂

The mood among the guys stayed pretty somber before the ceremony.

On the trolley to the ceremony, the atmosphere was full of excitement and anticipation.

Guests gather in front of the mountain view of Osceola Arbor as John and the guys arrive for the ceremony.

Meaghan’s brother provided music for the ceremony in addition to serving as a groomsmen.

Matthew Michaud of Northeast Nuptials presided over the ceremony. I love Matthew’s warm personality and presence.

John watches to see Meaghan as she approaches.

Timothy escorts his daughter down the aisle as guests rise to their feet and John beholds his bride.

Mount Tecumseh rises above the ceremony as Meaghan and John declare their love for each other.

Matron of honor, Leslie, looks on as Meaghan and John take the rings in their hands.

Matthew asks the bride and groom to raise the rings as the meaning of the unending circles is contemplated.

Meaghan is joined by her family.

John’s mother, Jacqueline, and her husband, Matthew.

John’s sister, Samantha, father George, and his wife Maura.

John’s sister, Samantha, shows a bit of sibling love.

I took John and Meaghan around the town square where some of my favorite settings for imagery can be found.

Meanwhile, the resort trollies escorted guests back to the conference center where the famed Speakeasy welcomed guests with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Whitney set the evening in motion as the center’s staff extended their hospitality.

Meaghan chose a beautiful vineyard theme to accent the decor and settings in the garden tent.

Guests were offered the opportunity to sign corks with a personal message to the bride and groom.

Wine themed coasters with were placed at each setting as a favor.

As the evening got under way, the celebration was only beginning. DJ Chris Renn from Get Down Tonight ushered in the festivities in grand style.

Meaghan and her father share a dance together.

John followed suit by putting out some moves with Meaghan.

I used the decorative elements for a match theme ring shot.

John and Meaghan: I enjoyed every moment with you in Waterville. Thank you for letting me spend this day with you in the most cherished of moments alongside your closest family and friends. It was my pleasure to create these images for you to savor for the rest of your life together. Your story has just begun!
