While wedding coordinator Kris and I were chatting and shuffling things to get ready for Kelly and Anthony’s wedding at Atkinson Resort and Country Club in Atkinson, NH, I had my WeatherBug radar under careful scrutiny as I watched the green blotches scatter around southern New Hampshire. It was a beautiful autumn Friday on 10/4/2013 and when I arrived at Atkinson, it was steadily raining.

But I saw a gap in the radar bands about 2-3 hours out that my inner meteorologist predicted would arrive just in time for the ceremony. As I would come to find, Kelly and Anthony had planned a warmly seasonal autumn theme for their October wedding complete with fall colors echoed on the maples and beeches around the golf course, earthy wood, and white pumpkins.

When I met up with Kelly at the resort, I shared my optimistic weather prediction as Kris and the awesome crew at the club began to set up the chairs for an outdoor ceremony. I was pretty confident we would be using the outdoor ceremony site.

Kelly and Anthony were no strangers to being photographed in adverse weather. The day we scheduled their engagement session this past February brought the tail end of blizzardy conditions to the Massabesic Audubon Center in Auburn, NH where we captured some wintery magic around the grounds.

As the rain fell on the parking lot, I met up with second shooter Jaime who was ready to help make some autumn photographic magic with me no matter what conditions prevailed.

The fall foliage painted the tree limbs around the golf course.

Autumn colors brighten the seasonal table accents.

Kelly and Jaime both thought it odd that I had never seen these albino-color pumpkins before. In my defense, according to wikipedia, they only became widespread in the US circa 2005. Nonetheless, I am endeavoring to increase my pumpkin prowess 🙂

Guests signed a leaf on the tree mat which Kelly had crafted.

Jaime met Anthony and the guys around the the game room in the lounge where the guys hung out before the ceremony.

Anthony responded with his own wedding gift to Kelly.

By this time, Alyssa was overcome with seeing her best friend as a beautiful bride.

As guests gathered for the ceremony, the rain stopped and the ground dried (see, told ya ;). The rear patio at Atkinson Country Club surrounds the gathering with open spaces, gentle breeze moving through the trees, and the sound of the fountain in the nearby pond.

As we shall soon see, the cake was only the beginning of the delights that would sweeten the palette this evening.

After dinner, the guys stepped outside to sample the celebratory cigars which Anthony gifted.

We finished off the evening’s photos with an intimate shot in the wine cellar.

Kelly and Anthony: thank you so much for letting me share in this special day with you as you begin your life together. I hope you love your photos. This is only the beginning!
